I love shopping with ASOS. Their clothing is of higher quality than many other retailers.
I often shop from their plus size section, ASOS Curve. They have the best selection anywhere. The clothes fit well and are stylish, modern, and the same styles available elsewhere on the site. I find that ASOS Curve has clothing that doesn't look like ugly plus size clothing,
Shipping can be a little bit slow and without promo codes (which are few and far between) prices can be a little bit high. I've always loved everything I've order and gotten a lot of wear out of each piece!
Modcloth is a great online retailer. They carry clothes in a variety of sizes and price ranges, and their customer support is excellent.
Whenever I shop at Modcloth, I find that they always have a great selection and reasonable prices. They have an alternative and sometimes hand-made feel to them. I can always count on Modcloth to have ladylike and fun clothing.
Their shipping is reasonably fast and their shipping and exchanges are free and there is never any hastle with returns. They often have sales and promotions, which is great because their prices are occasionally a bit high. Well worth it for cute, unique looking clothes, though!
Macy's is one of the most well known stores of all time, and their website reflects upon their rich and long history well. The Macy's website is fairly no frills, but is mostly easy to shop at. They have one of the biggest selections out there, making it easy to find what you are looking for.
Macy's is almost always having some kind of sale. I have bought clothing and home products for prices lower than I could find anywhere else. I have frequently gone to Macys.com ready to pay full price for something only to find it available for 75% less than retail price.
Their shipping is fast and free above certain dollar thresholds which change often. There are always promo codes available too.
I have been a longtime shopper at Williams Sonoma. They have the best quality cooking goods, amazing seasonal items, and delicious baking mixes, sauces, seasonings, and other things for the seasoned (or the less skilled) cook.
I recently signed up for an online registry for my recent wedding at William's Sonoma, and it was a fairly average experience; they don't offer anything remarkable. No huge completion discounts (only 10%; other retailers offer 20% plus additional incentives).
While their prices are high, I cannot usually find comparable goods for lower prices elsewhere. Sometimes I find the same product at the same price with promotion codes available.
Shipping is rarely fast and can be very costly. I believe that William Sonoma is one of those stores that charges for shipping based upon the price of the goods purchased.
I am a makeup lover and collector, and Sephora always keeps me on trend with the new concepts and new products released. I find myself browsing Sephora at least once a week, and sometimes placing orders just as often.
They offer great incentives to shoppers. 3 free samples with every order, promo codes that allow shoppers to get gift bags filled with freebies, or deluxe size samples, and point perks where shoppers can gain points for each dollar spent and redeem them for deluxe samples.
For frequent shoppers, they can attain VIB and VIB rouge status once they have spent a certain number of dollars. This gives them access to free 3 day shipping (which often arrives more quickly) as well as special access to products, promotions, and parties. I've placed many orders with Sephora and the one time I had an issue, it was resolved quickly.
When I want to purchase clothing and accessories that have a high end appeal and quality construction, I choose Nordstrom.
They have some of the best designers and prestige brands. I love browsing all of the categories of the Nordstrom website, which is well designed, attractive, and easy to browse.
They have great sales at Nordstrom and the free shipping and free returns are a wonderful incentive (for those shopping in the United States). Shipping is very fast and customer support is professional and effective. There is a reason that Nordstrom has been a trusted name for many years.
Torrid is a plus size clothing retailer focused on young consumers, and the products that they put out are in line with some of the things you might be seeing at a straight size women's retailer.
Like many others in this niche, they devalue their products and imply a huge markup with their constant sales. High percents off, buy one get one free, and $25 off ever $50 spent are promotions that make me feel like spending full price is a waste.
The quality of their clothing is inconsistent; some garments are of great quality, and others fall apart. Some of the materials that they use--lace for example--fall apart in the washer as if they were not meant to be worn more than once. I've returned garments for this reason. Some of their clothes are clearly sourced from factories that mass produce clothing with little regard to quality.
I continue shopping at Torrid due to their fair prices and stylish clothing.
Lane Bryant is one of the premier plus size women's clothing stores, and I've been shopping there off an on for a few years. Their clothing is average quality most of the time, but sometimes a little disappointing for the price. This is one of the online stores where you never want to pay full price; since they constantly run 30% and 40% off promotions, along with more $ off depending on how much you spend and others, it is apparent that their clothes are on a very high markup.
Their shipping is inconsistent and sometimes takes close to two weeks. Their ship to store option is free and convenient and is the option I choose the most. However, if you order online using Paypal, returns are arduous and can take 3-4 weeks for you to receive your refund.
