Success Story: Outcast Clothing

02 Jul 2016

Tell us the story of your business. How did you come up with the idea, and what makes your company unique?

Generation Outcast Clothing was founded in 2014 in a one-bedroom apartment in lake Macquarie by Lawrence Lees and Paris Marchant. Whilst Paris was suffering with clinical depression, we had a vision to become a household name in fashion around the world, and to empower girls to feel beautiful in what they wear and to inspire them to be the best version of themselves.

In October 2015, Kylie Jenner featured Paris in her #iammorethencampaign which went viral, and was posted by some of the biggest media companies across Australia, and even re-posted by Kylie’s mum, Kris Jenner.

The pair have also spoken in front of over 100 entrepreneurs about why having a vision is so important. Paris and Lawrence are big believers in "Taking a Chance” so much so that this is one of their core values.

Let’s talk about reviews. Did you have any initial reservations about asking your customers for reviews, and how do you feel about online reviews now?

We strive to have a 100% satisfaction rate on our reviews however impossible this may sound; we want all of our customers to be satisfied. Even if they are not happy straight away, we always do our best to fix that.

ShopVenture is the go-to place for fashion reviews, so for us to be one of the top-reviewed sites is amazing. It helps put trust in online shoppers, especially first time online shoppers who don’t know where to shop or who they can trust. It can be a hard decision for people because there are so many non-legitimate online stores out there.

What does success mean to you?

To us, success is measured by the people you help or the positive impact you have on their lives, and the impact you can make to the rest of the world. We believe we are doing this, but there is far more to come from us!
